You have landed on this page because the game detected an error while attempting to start.
The error occurs because the game failed to start the start menu background scene, which is mandatory for the start menu to work.
Modified games
One way that this can happen is if mods are installed, and a mod breaks the cutscene used for the start menu background scene. If you are running any mods, please uninstall them to see if this resolves the problem.
