Encyclopedia Entry

When the Jump Gates began to shut down starting in 778 NT, many sectors were caught unawares, with both inhabitants and visitors unable to return home. Due to a stroke of luck, or depending on who one might ask, divine interference, Atreus' Clouds was among several Boron systems that remained connected to the wider Jump Gate network for several years before becoming isolated themselves. During this time, where the Dark had not yet fully settled in, the planet Jamshala, also called "Tethys" by the Argon, became a major hub for the Community of Planets' repatriation efforts.Since the thought of being permanently cut off from each other terrified the communal Boron, word went out to all far-away colonies to return to one of the core worlds. Jamshala, with its history of multi-species cooperation, emerged as the obvious choice for those communities who wanted to retain some of their off-world individuality. Not only Boron heeded the call to safety, however, and Jamshala's marvellous floating cities are still populated by the descendants of those who opted to stay, or had nowhere else to go.
