In-game Description
The use of electromagnetic weaponry has provided the Earth Fleet with near-unparalleled firepower for their ships. These weapons use powerful electromagnetic field generators to propel spheres of plasma at high speeds, with devastating results.
The Electromagnetic Gun, whilst being the smallest of this family of weaponry, still boasts an impressive rate of fire, making it a solid choice for ships expected to engage in dogfights.
Tactical Overview
The Electromagnetic Gun is a very powerful fighter weapon used on the Cutlass fighter and the Xperimental Shuttle. Despite its relatively slow rate of fire, it hits hard, resulting in a very high damage output.
With a fast projectile, excellent accuracy, and amazing heat efficiency, this is easily one of, if not the best, gun for space superiority fighters.
Unfortunately, of the two fighters able to mount it, only the Cutlass can be mass-produced by the player.
Advantages:
- Very high damage per second
- High damage per shot
- Very good accuracy
- Good projectile speed and range
- Excellent heat efficiency
Disadvantages:
- Requires completion of certain Timelines mission
- Can only be fitted to Cutlass and X-Shuttle
- Requires player-owned ship production for mass deployment
