Exit Code 233
You have landed on this page because the game detected an error while attempting to start.
The issue occurs because the game failed to retrieve the number of Vulkan extension properties.
The problem is known to occur if you have manually removed the amd-vulkan64.json file from the Windows/System32 directory on a system with an AMD graphics card. If you did so, and have a backup of that file, you are advised to restore the file, restart your computer and then restart the game. Please note that it is possible that you may then be redirected to a different page with a different startup error. If this is the case, please follow the instructions on that page, but don't remove the file again.
If you don't have a backup of the amd-vulkan64.json file at hand, and/or the file has not been removed, please perform a clean reinstallation of your graphics card drivers, reboot the machine, and start the game again.
If you still encounter this problem and a clean reinstallation of the graphics card drivers didn't solve it, please send a mail to prioritysupport@egosoft.com (Subject: Exitcode 233) with a screenshot of the popup error and your dxdiag and vulkaninfo attached.
